Weeks 8-9 Recap
Week 8 Recap
This was the week of “almost.” Mac barely squeaked past Griffin in a 138–135 thriller that ended as the Game of the Week, keeping his season alive by a thread. Adam put together one of his cleanest wins of the year, torching Spencer 181–128 behind breakout performances across the board. Jordan and Conley met in a quiet heavyweight bout, but it was Jordan who emerged with a 169–117 win that solidified him as a true contender.
Meanwhile, Chanze’s consistent lineup rolled through Dillion, and Jacob got a much-needed spark with a win over Nolan. Only one team failed to crack 100 points, and yet no one managed to crack the trade block either. For a league built on chaos, that’s borderline suspicious.

Mac def. Griffin 138-135 [Game of the Week]
John def. Caleb 148–118

Week 9 Recap
Week 9 came roaring back like an overdue hangover. It was the highest-scoring slate in over a month, with five teams breaking 140 and one breaking 200. Adam exploded for 207 points, a season-high, taking down Mac in a shootout that would’ve beaten any other roster this week. Chanze dismantled Jacob’s team in a 164–93 statement win that kept him tied for the best record in the league. Jordan edged John in the Game of the Week, a 147–144 duel that showcased how tight the top tier has become.
Elsewhere, Conley and Spencer handled business, while Nolan kept his playoff hopes alive with a solid win over Dillion. The trade drought finally broke when Mac and Chanze swapped skill players, after Mac’s long awaited return to the group chat AKA “the return of the Mac.”

Looking Ahead
As we head into Week 10, the top seven teams are separated by barely two games. The top two, Jordan and Chanze, look like playoff locks, but everyone else is scrapping for space in the bracket. The middle tier is full of 4–5 teams, where one loss could send you tumbling from playoff dreams to Thanksgiving planning.
The road to the postseason is officially open, and the Leroy Butler autographs await those who survive the next month.

The Reely Cool Stuff
This section is where every team owner can showcase creative (or personal) works beyond fantasy football. Our league is full of talented people from all walks of life, and several are serious artists who deserve the spotlight.
We finally have an update on Nolan, and it’s a fun one. Next year, he’ll be attending and volunteering at Sundance. For those who don’t know, Sundance is one of the biggest film festivals in the world. It takes place in Park City, Utah, and next year’s will be the first since the passing of the legendary Robert Redford, who founded the festival in 1981.
Around the time he joined this league in 2023, Chanze left Sikeston and a steady job with the Department of Corrections to build a better life for his family. He started over in a beat-up camper with no plan but determination, and now, two years later, he’s living in a 2025 home, already cleared $110k, and is on track to launch his own contracting business by the new year.
With the launch of Battlefield 6, Caleb and Jordan have formed a squad that drops in almost every night. If the game’s price tag scares you off, no worries; the new Battlefield RedSec: Battle Royale mode is completely free. They’re always looking for more players, so jump in if you’re down. Here’s a clip of Caleb mowing ‘em down:
If there’s anything that you want to submit for the next commissioner report, please message me about it. I am excited to share more about YOU. Even if you’re not an artist and want to just share updates about your personal life (new job, family achievements, vacation photos, etc.), I will gladly do so.
Your Commissioner,
